Use your CORRECTLY SPELLED words, people.

The inaugural post of this blog is dedicated to one of my biggest pet peeves: people who misspell things on purpose. Are people really that lazy? They can't even spell a word correctly because it takes an extra two seconds?

I admit, sometimes when I'm texting and I'm in a hurry (say, coming up to a counter and not wanting to be rude to the service representative), I'll say "u" or something like that. But otherwise, I almost NEVER do it. And it genuinely bugs the crap out of me when people do it repetitively.

However, even that does not compare to the morons who will actually name their establishment with a misspelled word. Replacing a "c" with a "k" doesn't make you cooler. It makes you a moron. Unless I have to, I will not go into places that do that - to me, it almost feels like they're banking too much on the name to bring people in. If you have to utilize a "new fad" (and that's almost what this misspelling crap is) to get people in your establishment ... I'm not feeling too good about buying whatever it is you're selling.

I support people who spell correctly, thank you very much.

(Wouldn't it be ironic if I misspelled something in this post?)
